Archive of Blind Geek Zone audio contributions and podcasts
Starting in around 2007, the Blind Geek Zone hosted by Rick Harmon began offering various assistive technology related podcasts and other tutorials intended to teach visually impaired audiences how to get the most out of their tech or even just how to live a more indipendent life as a blind person. Sadly after over a decade and a half of service, the website unfortunately broke badly and soon after, Rick made the decision to shut it down.
Luckily, all but 2 podcasts on the Blind Geek Zone were able to be retrieved mear hours before the website was permanently erased from the internet. This page contains an archive of all recovered podcasts, including their descriptions, authors and upload dates.
Be aware that this page probably contains various broken links, particularly links in podcast descriptions that lead back to blind-geek-zone.net in any way.
For older podcasts from before late 2012, use the link at the bottom of the page.
A huge thanks to Rick Harmon for hosting the blind geek zone for all those years, and now for allowing me to host this archive!

I heard the thunder outside and thought I'd see what my new Olympus LS 14 could do. This is a 14 minute recording of a spring time storm here at the house. It was recorded originally as 44.1 Khz 16 bit stereo wave and then was converted to 320k mp3 stereo. I used a wind screen with this that works quite well but even it was over whelmed towards the end of the recording. This is also where the rain started hitting me and I decided to not endanger the recorder. Enjoy.
